Gods

We were infected the moment we were born. Some say they were stronger in the old days, others insist that one or a few exist, and most act as if they do not. New ones are born every day. They live, die, and grow through us. In us. Parasitic, symbiotic, and catalysts for growth all at once. When they met, they destroyed each other. Shadows of themselves, they nonetheless exercise power. Splintered and scattered, but alive and hungry all the same.
